Shore Health System's Memorial Hospital at Easton and Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge have a combined 192 licensed beds, offering a complete range of inpatient and outpatient services to over 100,000 people throughout the Mid-Shore of Maryland. Situated on Maryland's Eastern Shore, these two hospitals became affiliated in 1996 and formed Shore Health System, which became a part of the University of Maryland Medical System in 2006. The Dorchester General Hospital is a 49-bed, acute facility located in Cambridge, Maryland. Through Shore Behavioral Health Services, the hospital provides comprehensive mental health and substance abuse programs on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
The Memorial Hospital at Easton is a 123-bed acute facility located in Talbot County, Maryland, that offers a 20-bed Requard Center for Acute Rehabilitation—the only one of its kind in the region—and outpatient centers that provide primary care, diagnostics, treatment, education, and rehabilitation. Memorial Hospital is home to the Chesapeake College School of Nursing and both hospitals provide opportunities for clinical training for nursing students.
